Companies like GEICO, AAA, USAA, Farmers Insurance, Costco, Sam’s Club, and soon even Wal Mart are all offering auto buying programs to their members. These services gather your information, and promise you a great deal and an easy process on your next car purchase. And you know what? Most of them work. A lot of them work really well, in fact. For new cars, you’ll generally find your buying program is partnered with one local dealer for each brand, where they will put you in touch with a sales-person or manager tasked to handle your purchase from start to finish. These dealers generally commit at the beginning of the model year, month, or quarter, as to what price they’re able to offer members for each specific model they carry. When you contact the dealer simply tell them what you want, and receive your price. Simple as that. The used car programs generally work a little differently. While some may still refer you to a specific dealer, most buying programs like those of USAA, AAA, and Sam’s Club allow you to shop online, and only contact the dealer when you’re ready. If you’re in the market for a used car, and you’re a member of a company like USAA or AAA, all you need to do is log in online, and navigate to the car buying program page. Start your shopping by picking out the makes and models you’re interested in, and view listings. Once you’ve selected the car or truck that looks best to you, submit your details, and receive your special price right away!
